Build things that end up in someone's hands.

Small teams, real ownership, and products that reach people who are not usually designed for. If you want your work to matter outside a dashboard, this is a good place to spend a few years.

Work culture

What it is actually like here

We are a small engineering company, which means less process and more consequence. Your work is visible, your decisions are yours, and there is nobody between you and the problem.

  • You own features end to end — from understanding the user to watching your code run in production.
  • Code review on everything, in both directions. Juniors review seniors here and it is expected.
  • No heroics culture. Sustained overtime is treated as a planning failure, because that is what it is.
  • You talk to users. Engineers join field visits and client workshops rather than receiving requirements second-hand.
  • Disagreement is normal. Technical decisions are argued openly and the reasoning is written down.
  • Flexible hours, with overlap. We agree core hours for collaboration and leave the rest to you.

Benefits

What we offer

Specifics are confirmed in your offer letter. These are the categories that apply to full-time roles.

Competitive salary

Benchmarked against the Pune market and reviewed annually, with a written rationale for every revision.

Health cover

Medical insurance for you and your immediate family.

Paid leave

Annual, casual and sick leave, plus public holidays, and an expectation that you actually take them.

Flexible hours

Agreed core hours for collaboration; the rest of your schedule is yours to arrange.

Learning budget

An annual allowance for courses, certifications, conferences and books, with time allocated to use it.

Proper equipment

A machine that does not slow you down, and the software licences you need to do the job well.

Mentorship

A named mentor for every new joiner and structured feedback rather than an annual surprise.

Impact work

Time on BalSaathi and social-sector projects is part of the job, not a volunteer add-on.

Internships

Ship something real in twelve weeks.

Two mentored cohorts a year, open to students and recent graduates from any engineering college in India. Interns are given a mentor, a real feature and the expectation that it reaches production.

  • Twelve weeks, with a defined project agreed in week one.
  • A named mentor and a weekly one-to-one throughout.
  • Stipend provided for all interns.
  • Certificate and reference on successful completion.
  • A real shot at a full-time offer — several of our engineers joined this way.

Week 1

Onboarding, codebase orientation and agreement on your project scope.

Weeks 2–9

Build, with code review on every pull request and a demo each fortnight.

Weeks 10–11

Testing, documentation and release preparation for your feature.

Week 12

Ship, present to the company, and receive written feedback you can use.

Hiring process

Four steps, about two weeks

No unpaid take-home marathons and no rounds that exist only to test endurance.

  1. Step 01

    Application review

We read every application and reply either way, usually within five working days.

  2. Step 02

    Introductory call

Thirty minutes with someone from the team about your experience, what you want next, and what the role actually involves.

  3. Step 03

    Technical conversation

A discussion of your past work and a practical problem worked through together. Short, and scoped to respect your time.

  4. Step 04

    Final conversation and offer

A conversation about ways of working and expectations, followed by a written offer with the compensation rationale included.
